Our
Story
Get to Know Us
In the wake of the Hurricane Helene, our organization was born out of Christ centered love and from the urgent need for coordinated support to our area. What happened to our hometown and surrounding counties, affected our neighbors, our friends, and ourselves. We couldn’t stand by and do nothing, so we came together to create SOS Group, an entirely volunteer-run initiative funded by donations, with 100% of those resources directed straight into the hands of our community.
Mission and Goals
Support
We seek to provide a substructure to our neighbors that allow us to build our community through coordination of support services. Through a vast network of volunteers and like-minded organizations, our mission is to add value and resources to our community whether in times of joy or in need. Our goal is to ensure all in our community feel safe and have their needs met under any circumstances through compassionate support.
Operations
Our mission is to provide operational support, needed assistance, and resources, to our community through volunteer and service agencies. As a community partner, our team of experts and volunteers stand ready to defend and protect, provide communication and medical assistance, and support coordination of services. Our goal is simply to see a need and fill a need.
Serve
At SOS Group, our mission is to serve our neighbors with compassion driven by Christ centered love. In fact, we feel this is a fundamental responsibility and our goal is to partner with other like-minded agencies and volunteers to ensure a positive impact to our community.
